The European Conference on Aging & Gerontology (EGen) is IAFOR’s Europe-focused counterpart to AGen, expanding the conversation on ageing to the European context. EGen2026 in London will gather academics, policymakers, health professionals and non-profits to explore ageing across Europe, the UK and neighbouring regions. The conference addresses demographic change, health and social care systems, pensions, housing, migration, digital transformation and rights-based frameworks for older people.
Sessions typically mix empirical research with policy debate: for instance, presentations on long-term care workforce challenges in Southern Europe might sit alongside case studies of age-friendly urban design in Scandinavian cities or digital-inclusion programmes for older adults in the UK. Because EGen is interdisciplinary, it also welcomes contributions from architecture, design, technology, law and humanities, making it attractive for innovators who design products or environments for seniors.
For Indian and Asian organisations, EGen2026 offers insight into how high-income countries are re-architecting welfare states and health systems in response to ageing populations. This is particularly relevant for Indian insurers, retirement-community developers, senior-housing brands and health-policy researchers benchmarking their work against EU models. London’s status as a global hub, plus easy flight connectivity from India, makes EGen a practical European event to attend or list on SeniorCareJoy for international partnerships.
