The Asian Conference on Aging & Gerontology (AGen2026) is one of Asia’s most recognised interdisciplinary forums on ageing. Organised by The International Academic Forum (IAFOR), AGen2026 will take place in Kobe, Japan, bringing together researchers, policymakers, health professionals, designers, educators and NGOs from across Asia, Europe and North America.

The conference examines ageing from multiple angles: medicine and public health, psychology and mental health, social care, economics, built environment and technology. Typical themes include active and healthy ageing, intergenerational solidarity, caregiving and family structures, labour and retirement, migration and ageing, and the ethics of longevity technologies. Because AGen runs alongside other IAFOR conferences in psychology and education, it offers rich cross-disciplinary conversations that are rare in more narrowly clinical meetings.

Kobe, as a Japanese city with a high proportion of older residents, provides a relevant context for field visits and case studies on age-friendly infrastructure and community programmes. For Indian and Asia–Pacific attendees, AGen2026 is a powerful platform to present research on ageing in emerging economies, discuss policy gaps around pensions and long-term care, and build partnerships with academics and NGOs working on later-life wellbeing. The programme typically includes oral presentations, poster sessions, workshops, best-paper awards and publication opportunities in IAFOR’s conference proceedings and partner journals.
